Salary - Competitive salary, dependant of experience & benefits package

Full Time – 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm hours with On call requirement

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of first-class patient outcomes and experience at the highest professional and clinical standards. They will take a lead governance role across this service ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies. They will also be required to maintain a clinical caseload and participate in the cardiothoracic on-call service.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Practise as an autonomous and accountable professional using reflective practice and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessments and providing an individualised treatment programme for each patient.
  • Provide exceptional programmes of care for the patients in your care through assessment and implementation of highly specialist treatments to maximise their rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Communicate condition-related information to patients, relatives and carers and use appropriate methods to address barriers to communication.
  • Deal sensitively and empathetically with distressing or emotional circumstances regarding patient care.
  • Support your team members in the management of challenging clinical situations.
  • Obtain informed, valid consent on an ongoing basis which endeavours to keep patients involved in their own health care plan.
  • Comply with confidentiality policies as set out by Cromwell Hospital (CH), HCPC and the CSP.
  • Respect a patient’s right to be chaperoned and appropriately implement the hospital chaperone policy.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely patient treatment records and reports in line with local and national requirements for best management of the patient.
  • Manage clinical risk within your caseload and ensure potential clinical risk is effectively communicated and managed.

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:

You are a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist able to undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. You will provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to adult in- and outpatients in your speciality which will include outpatient and inpatient referrals across all hospital wards and external referrals within your field.
You will promote a cohesive, dynamic, and coordinated Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy team respected and valued by the wider MDT.
