Apprentice Site Engineer

This role is based in and around Cheltenham/Gloucester

What you will be doing:

You will enroll in an apprenticeship course suitable for your educational level, from a level to a degree level apprenticeship, fully funded by Galliford Try. The specific level will be discussed at interview and confirmed upon offer. You will gain a qualification and practical skills throughout the programme.

You will also join our Trainee Development Programme, receiving training and tools over a year, culminating in a graduation event.

As an apprentice / trainee Site Engineer, you will assist Site Engineers with setting out and engineering control on site.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Participating in creating a safe working environment.
  • Assisting with site engineering control and setting out activities, providing information to operatives and subcontractors.
  • Completing diary sheets and photographic evidence as required.
  • Assisting in material reconciliations.
  • Ensuring calibration of surveying equipment.
  • Carrying out as-built surveys and producing drawings.
  • Supporting in producing D & D site sketches.
  • Maintaining quality records in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
  • Assisting in basic planning, monitoring, and programming.
  • Controlling and minimizing waste on site.
  • Introducing new processes, techniques, and innovations.
  • Taking care of company property and storing it securely.
