Job description

Working for an innovative technology company, with a specific focus on low loss RF MEMS devices. Low cost, low power and high performance smart antenna technology used to develop innovative solutions reducing cost and complexity of phased arrays, SATCOM and 5G.


Role Summary

The System Engineer is responsible for the top-level specification of phased arrays. This will involve system simulation, algorithm development and specification writing.


Responsibilities
  1. Create detailed system requirements based on customer requirements.
  2. Ensure requirements meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
  3. Define RF system board layout floorplan and layout strategies.
  4. Lead RF system integration and debug activity at board level.
  5. Develop algorithms for control of RF blocks.
  6. Collaborate with Digital hardware and software team to integrate and validate algorithms.
  7. Develop test and calibration strategies for sub-assemblies of complete array.

Person Specification
Essential
  1. Bachelor/Master of Electrical Engineering.
  2. Knowledge and experience of RF and System Modelling.
  3. Knowledge and experience creating algorithms to control complex systems.
  4. Knowledge and experience of System integration, prototyping, measurement and transfer to production.
  5. Demonstrated ability of working independently with minimal supervision.
  6. High levels of energy and the ability to work with both commercial and technical employees.
  7. Have analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.

Desirable
  1. Knowledge and experience with PCB layout for complex systems.
  2. Knowledge and experience with link budget calculations.
  3. Knowledge and experience with Keysight SystemVue.
  4. PhD or Masters in RF Systems or Communications Theory.
