Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach helps develop a competitive Division I Women's Volleyball program. The primary role of the Assistant Coach is to teach student-athletes the game of Women's Volleyball. The Assistant Coach will evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to Temple University whose athletic skills will enhance the competitiveness of the program and whose academic abilities make them excellent candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from Temple University.

The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program established by the Head Coach. This includes, but is not limited to, creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating, and managing aspects related to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, and associated booster clubs. The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that represents the University, the Department, and the sport both on and off the field of competition. They should be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policies governing their sport as well as NCAA and conference policies regarding recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach will perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of previous Volleyball experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student-athlete. Experience administering Division I NCAA rules. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
  • NCAA Division I experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and allocating a budget.
  • Demonstrated experience fundraising towards the achievement of program goals.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
  • Ability to implement policies and guidelines for all Women's Volleyball personnel and student-athletes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
