Job Opportunity: Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner for children and adults. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Social Worker who is passionate about safeguarding.

Role Overview

As a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner, you will support the operational leadership of safeguarding within Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT). You will work as part of the Trust Safeguarding Team to promote the safeguarding agenda and the ‘Think Family’ approach, embedding a culture of professional curiosity Trust-wide.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver effective, compassionate safeguarding advice, support, and supervision under the direction of the Named Nurse.
  2. Ensure the Trust meets its statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of all adults, children, and young people.
  3. Meet statutory requirements of the Care Act 2014, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, and the Intercollegiate Documents for Safeguarding Adults and Children & Young People: Roles and Competences for Health Care Staff 2018.
  4. Support operational safeguarding leadership within NSFT.
  5. Manage issues related to safeguarding, including investigations, advice, training, attendance at safeguarding partnership groups, governance, audits, and deputising for the Named Nurse.
  6. Lead on specific areas of safeguarding to advance the safeguarding agenda across the Trust.
  7. Provide leadership and governance as an autonomous practitioner to promote safeguarding initiatives.
  8. Deliver specialist safeguarding training to staff in line with national and local guidelines and policies.
