Job description

A leading Big 4 Accountancy firm with one of the UK's top Indirect Tax practices is seeking a VAT Manager to join their team.

The team comprises 15 partners and approximately 230 professionals providing advice and support across all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a diverse range of sectors, including large multinationals, well-known retailers, and public sector organizations. The Large Corporates Indirect Tax practice is dynamic and expanding. Within the team, specialists focus on sectors such as Retail, Supply Chain and International Trade, Life Sciences, TMT, and Energy & Natural Resources. The team collaborates closely with Trade & Customs and Corporate tax colleagues to add value and support clients.

As a key member of our Large Corporates Indirect Tax team, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality indirect tax advice aligned with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and other jurisdictional rules;
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships;
• Creating innovative solutions, including identifying VAT risks and opportunities;
• Managing project finances, budgets, and billing for profitable delivery;
• Leading some business development and marketing initiatives;
• Coaching and developing junior team members technically and commercially;
• Collaborating with directors and partners for support and growth opportunities;
• Working closely with specialists in International Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Trade & Customs as needed.
