Job Description

Cost Control Specialist/Controller for a major offshore wind developer based in Scotland.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver, maintain, and manage robust cost management frameworks, procedures, and tools with responsibility for accurate project cost reporting and analysis.
  2. Develop and maintain project budgets and cost reports on behalf of the Project/Package Managers, ensuring EAC (Estimate at Completion) forecasts are available at a suitable level for each financial month-end, board meetings, and lenders' construction reports.
  3. Monitor and control project actuals, value of work done (VOWD), commitments, and forecast costs against approved budgets; prepare accurate project reports for senior management.
  4. Maintain a robust change control process within the project and recommend actions accordingly.
  5. Support package managers in variation orders (VOs) process and drawdowns from project contingency funds.
  6. Liaise with Planning to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of budgets; ensure all change request impacts are properly assessed and included in the schedule.
  7. Supervise and monitor monthly cost reports from project contractors and/or consultants, ensuring timely and accurate accrual submissions to finance.
  8. Support finance in validating monthly invoice/billing requests from contractors and/or consultants, ensuring correctness and alignment with approved budgets; challenge variations as needed.
  9. Participate in cost and estimate risk analysis sessions as required.
  10. Work closely with the Finance Team.
Requirements

A relevant degree qualification is preferred but not essential. Candidates with 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar role, even with lesser qualifications, will also be considered.
