Are you a dynamic, creative, and client-focused transport planning professional? Can you leverage your technical and business development skills to accelerate our growth? If so, we want to hear from you. We have exciting Associate Director level roles based in the North, including Newcastle, Leeds, Edinburgh, and Manchester.

We offer a challenging and rewarding career working for a leading consultancy with a strong presence in the North. You will be a key member of a growing team, expanding our client base and delivering technically demanding projects for private and public sector clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proven business development capabilities, ideally with a focus on the North.
  • Lead work-winning efforts by leveraging established clients and developing new contacts.
  • Build a solid workload to support the growth of the Northern Region.
  • Use your technical skills to resolve complex transport issues, managing projects and technical resources to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Manage staff and develop junior team members, backed by strong project management skills.
Requirements:
  • Proven business development skills.
  • Experience delivering technically challenging transport planning projects, especially in the development sector.
  • Experience in project, financial, and resource management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Successful experience liaising and negotiating with stakeholders and statutory consultees to resolve transport issues and advising clients in both public and private sectors.
  • Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and planning system.
  • Familiarity with current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB.
  • Knowledge of junction modelling software applications.
  • Excellent written, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead projects and teams independently.

Although not mandatory, experience acting as an Expert Witness would be advantageous.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., transport planning, civil engineering, geography).
  • Professional accreditation such as CMILT, TPP, CIHT, or MICE.
