West Lothian Council seeks dedicated educators for Ogilvie School Campus, an all-through school for children with additional support needs. Candidates must have a relevant teaching qualification and be committed to fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment. A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland are essential.
This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment, with costs covered by the candidate.
The fee for Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59, or £18 for existing members.
Ogilvie School Campus caters to children with a range of additional support needs arising from complex difficulties, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. The school’s catchment area covers all of West Lothian Council.
Ogilvie School Campus is an all-through school for pupils aged 5-18, across Primary and Secondary sectors. The Secondary curriculum is tailored to support learners in achieving success and preparing for life beyond school. In line with the values, purpose, and principles of Curriculum for Excellence, we aim to provide all learners with access to high-quality teaching to maximize their achievements and celebrate their successes broadly.

Effective learning and teaching are priorities, complemented by a nurturing ethos. Staff are creative, barrier-removing, and caring, ensuring pupils can access the curriculum appropriately. We celebrate each child's individual success. All staff are expected to set high expectations to encourage pupils to reach their full potential, enabling them to leave school as effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.
The school currently employs a Head Teacher, 16 teaching staff, 3 subject specialists, 50 Advanced Pupil Support Workers, and 2 office staff. The school roll is 122 children across Primary and Secondary levels.
We are supported by a team of health professionals, including school nurses, a Community Pediatrician, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, an Education Psychologist, and a Children and Adolescent Mental Health Team. This multidisciplinary team collaborates regularly with staff, children, and parents.
There is a very positive ethos across the school. Staff, parents, and partners work collaboratively to create a community that provides the best possible care for our children.
