Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Fawkes & Reece South are working with an established regional civil engineering contractor that is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. They are collaborating with a local authority on a major highway framework worth over £50m, delivering road, highways, and associated redevelopment work. The scope of works will include surfacing, kerbs, footways, earthworks, street lighting, signage, and road marking.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report to a Managing Quantity Surveyor in a small commercial team working on projects based on NEC contracts. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Accurate monthly forecasting
2. Producing and sending enquiries with relevant documentation to subcontractors
3. Producing monthly reports and cost value reconciliations
4. Managing any changes in a timely manner in accordance with the forms of contract
5. Producing, submitting, and agreeing monthly applications
6. Attending weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and the client

Requirements:

1. Degree-qualified or equivalent in a Quantity Surveying subject
2. Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects
3. Experience working on and understanding NEC contracts
4. Right to work in the UK
