Software Developer - Oncology Diagnostics

Hartmann Young is partnered with an exciting clinical-stage liquid biopsy company, advancing diagnostic tests for early-stage cancer detection. They are looking for a Software Developer to join the team in Glasgow, reporting into the Software Team Lead.

The role

You'll contribute to the development and testing of software for global clinical deployment of a diagnostic platform. Day to day, you'll collaborate closely with data scientists, clinical lab scientists and fellow software developers. Responsibilities include software development, validation and quality assurance and you'll work to build robust, regulatory-compliant solutions.

The requirements

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in a quantitative or engineering discipline (e.g., computer science, chemistry, physics, maths, bioinformatics, engineering, among others); OR equivalent work experience as a professional software engineer.
  • Demonstrated programming expertise in Python and in developing, testing and delivering robust software solutions.
  • Ability to write technical reports to a high standard suitable for internal use and regulatory purposes. Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, NUnit).

The person

We're looking for someone enthusiastic about realising a positive impact on patient outcomes via the early detection of cancer. You'll have excellent communication skills, a willingness to collaborate and an ability to plan / manage your own workload.
