Job description

Join us as a Junior Java Fullstack Developer in our Financial Crime team that delivers Business Change and Technology transformation to protect the bank, its customers, and its employees, as well as society at large, from the negative effects of Financial Crime. You will be involved in a large-scale project the team is currently working on.

To be successful as a Junior Java Fullstack Engineer within this team, you should have experience with:

1. Java 17 or above
2. REST API
3. UI development with either Angular or React Native

Some other highly valued skills may include:

1. DevOps: Monitoring and tooling like ELK and AppDynamics, Build and Deployment tools, Docker, Kubernetes, Load Balancer principles, experience working on highly scalable applications
2. Database and Messaging: SQL (Joins, Indexing, Transactions), NoSQL (Mongo, Cassandra, CAP Theorem, etc.), SQL queries, Query optimizations, etc.
3. GraphQL
4. Jenkins

This role would be based out of our Glasgow Campus.

To design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

2. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, devise solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
3. Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality, and share knowledge.
4. Stay informed of industry trends and contribute to technology communities to foster excellence and growth.
5. Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect data.
6. Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
