Job Description

Known as Red Tops, our Key Stage One (KS1) Coaches lead and animate fun activities for children aged 5 to 7. Each KS1 Coach may be assigned their own group of 8 children or join another coach to oversee a group of 16, supporting children in activities such as tennis, badminton, cricket, and swimming—each session lasting between 30 to 60 minutes.

Coaches report to the Camp Manager and are encouraged to demonstrate ‘Active Coaching’—delivering high-energy, inclusive, and engaging sessions that promote activity and fun for every child, regardless of ability.

Child safety is our top priority. You will ensure the welfare of children at all times by supervising during breaks, participating in swimming sessions, overseeing equipment use, recording incidents promptly, implementing behaviour management policies, and upholding health and safety standards.

Our venues include some fantastic school and university sites across the UK. We also partner with organizations like the RNRMC, Annington Trust, and the Army Welfare Service to run camps for children of serving personnel at military establishments. If interested in a residential role, please note this in your application.

Person Specification (Ideal, but flexible)

  • Availability for the full season (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm), with a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks during summer.
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children aged 5-17.
  • At least 3 months’ experience coaching sports or delivering active games.
  • Vibrant, resilient, team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Primary or Secondary Teaching, Sports Coaching, or Physical Education.
  • Paediatric First Aid certification (training opportunities available).
