Job description

A vacancy has arisen within Business Services for a full-time Support Services Officer.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team supporting the Highway Services management team, based at our Meadowfield depot.

The duties include:

  1. Work directly with senior managers to provide admin and secretarial support
  2. Coordinate admin work to ensure deadlines are met
  3. Administer the process for rechargeables for third-party damage
  4. Administer recruitment for Highway Services
  5. Arrange, attend, and minute meetings
  6. Provide general administrative support to the Highway Services management team

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who takes pride in providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, be well-organized and flexible, have good IT skills, and manage changing priorities. You will also need to be able to work unsupervised using your initiative.

HYBRID WORKING (if applicable)

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy with 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote. This model is pro-rated for part-time roles and arrangements are at managers' discretion. Alternatively, you can work all your contracted hours within the workplace if preferred.
