Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate - £600 - £700 Per Day

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and security-cleared Business Analyst to support critical projects within the Defence and National Security sector. The ideal candidate will work across multidisciplinary teams to gather and analyse business requirements, define processes, and support the delivery of secure, mission-critical solutions. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that delivered solutions meet operational needs in a highly regulated and sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to gather, validate, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Analyse existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Support the development of business cases, capability roadmaps, and strategic investment plans.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams (including software engineers, systems architects, and project managers) throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Support the implementation and testing of solutions, including requirements traceability and validation.
  • Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and accreditation standards specific to defence and national security domains.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and decision-making sessions.
  • Produce clear documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Defence, Security, Intelligence, or Government sectors.
  • Active EDV / UK*C Clearance
  • Strong understanding of systems development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with complex, sensitive data and navigate a high-security environment.
  • Familiarity with MOD, GDS, or NCSC standards and frameworks.
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Sparx EA, Visio).

Desirable:

  • Background in systems engineering or project management.
  • Knowledge of data governance, digital transformation, or cloud adoption in secure environments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BCS Business Analysis, IIBA, Agile BA, Prince2, ITIL).
