Job summary

Techshack Recruitment LTD is seeking an eDV-cleared Architect for a hybrid, UK-based contract role with a 6-month initial term and potential extension. Qualifications

• Active eDV clearance is essential.

eDV Cleared Architect – Contract

Location: London / Cheltenham / Manchester – Hybrid
Rate: Up to £800 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Clearance: Active eDV Clearance Required
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential extension

We are currently working with a leading organisation within the UK public sector who are looking for an experienced Architect with active eDV clearance to join a highly secure and technically complex programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Architecture professional to work on high-profile projects within the Defence / National Security / Public Sector space.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop technical architecture solutions aligned with business and programme objectives.

• Lead the design of complex technology solutions across large-scale programmes.

• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, technical designs and architecture diagrams.

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams.

• Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

• Assess existing systems and architectures and identify opportunities for improvement and modernisation.

• Ensure solutions meet appropriate security, governance and technical standards.

• Support technical decision-making and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, security, data and delivery teams.

• Ensure architectural decisions are clearly documented and communicated.

• Contribute to technical strategy, standards and best practice.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active eDV clearance – essential.

• Strong commercial experience working as an Architect, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, Enterprise Architect or similar.

• Proven experience designing complex technical solutions.

• Strong understanding of enterprise technology and architecture principles.

• Experience working across multiple technology domains and integrating complex systems.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Ability to produce clear and detailed technical architecture documentation.

• Experience working within complex, highly secure or regulated environments.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within Defence, Government or National Security.

• Experience working on UK public sector programmes.

• Cloud, infrastructure, software, data or security architecture experience.

• TOGAF or another recognised architecture framework.

• Experience working within large-scale transformation or modernisation programmes.

• Experience operating within highly secure environments.
