Purpose of Job
Our client is seeking an experience Account Manager who will play a vital role within our client's fastest growing areas focused on National Security & Intelligence. Leveraging a proven track record and expanding market presence across sectors such as Defence and Critical National Infrastructure, this role is essential for identifying new business opportunities and supporting strategic growth. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team to enhance client engagement and support the delivery of projects that reinforce our position as the partner of choice.
Typical Responsibilities


  • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities within a defined remit or customer area.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and the wider leadership team to develop market propositions aligned with client needs.

  • Maintain accurate forecasting of business pipeline and revenue opportunities.

  • Lead and coordinate bids and proposals with subject matter experts to secure new contracts.

  • Work with internal teams, including workforce coordinators, to ensure resource availability for new business opportunities.

  • Share market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Act as a point of escalation for business development challenges and client concerns.

  • Establish and manage partnerships with external organisations to support mutual growth objectives.


Knowledge


  • Understanding of the UK National Security sector or related government departments.

  • Strong commercial awareness including budgeting, risk management, and forecasting.

  • Familiarity with the Software Delivery Lifecycle is advantageous.


Experience


  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management roles within the UK Government or related sectors.

  • Experience building and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Track record of achieving business growth objectives.

  • Effective prioritisation of tasks and ability to manage competing demands.
