Kiddy Academy Wavertree is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice. You must be Level 2 qualified to be considered. The role covers caring for children, contributing to policy implementation, and attending all training and parental events as part of your on-the-job learning.

You will work under supervision, be involved in all aspects of nursery life, and progress towards the Level 3 educator apprenticeship while upholding confidentiality and high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English Grade 4/C or equivalent.
  • Must be Level 2 qualified for the role.
  • Aspiring to progress to Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Attend team meetings and input ideas.
  • Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children (washing, changing, feeding).
  • Assist with meeting personal and emotional needs of individual children.
  • Provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
  • Support staff and engage in duties, including out-of-hours activities.
  • Contribute to policies and procedures such as the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery.
  • Move to other nursery areas as part of training.

Job description

Kiddy Academy Wavertree are looking for the right candidate to join them as a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice. PLEASE NOTE - You must be Level 2 qualified to be considered for this role! As an apprentice your duties will be: To attend team meetings and input ideas. Under supervision, to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding. To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children. To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery. To be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy. To support all staff and engage in a good staff team. To attend ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings summer fair, Christmas party, etc. To input and contribute to ideas regarding implementation of policies and procedures such as Early Years Foundation Stage. To contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in Nursery. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee's supervisor from time to time. To look upon the nursery as a "whole" where can you help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children. To respect the confidentiality of information received. To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development. To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times. To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures. To be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. To understand that as part of training you will be required to move to other parts of the nursery. GCSE Maths and English at a Grade 4/C or equivalent. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
