Job description

We are looking for a motivated and caring Educational Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Taunton. This full-time, term-time position involves working 5 days a week, supporting students aged with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students across a range of subjects and year groups.

Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to support students with their learning and wellbeing.

Adapt resources and lesson content to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Foster positive relationships that build students confidence, motivation, and engagement.

Monitor and record progress and behaviour, contributing to reviews and reports.

Support pupils during unstructured times such as breaks, transitions, and school outings.

What We re Looking For:
Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN or behavioural needs (school or youth work settings preferred).

Calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A willingness to learn and take part in ongoing training.

A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Youth Work, or similar) is desirable but not essential.

Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
