Renfrewshire Educational Psychology Service has developed an effective collaborative approach to service delivery and is centrally placed within Children’s Services at strategic and operational levels.


In addition to service delivery to educational establishments and the delivery of training, educational psychologists are involved in a number of strategic initiatives including: Renfrewshire’s Nurturing Relationships Approach (whole-school nurture & trauma-informed practice), Inclusive Communications Environments, Non-Violent Resistance Approaches and service improvement strands such as Equalities and Self-Evaluation


We are looking to recruit one permanent and one temporary educational psychologist who are committed to applying psychology to make a difference and who will be committed to the continuous improvement of the service.


You will enhance the capacity of the educational psychology service to develop/identify positive wellbeing programmes and approaches and support schools to implement and measure the impact on children, young people and families. The post will be a generic main grade post, with input to various development strands of work.


Candidates must have an honours degree in psychology and MSc in educational psychology (or be in the course of completing post graduate training), They will be required to register as an educational psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).


The successful candidates will contribute to the provision of an educational psychology service for Renfrewshire Council, in accordance with statutory duties, relevant legislation and local authority policy and the standards of conduct, performance and ethics of the HCPC.
