Job summary

A local authority organization in Scotland is seeking a motivated Educational Psychologist to join their team. The successful candidate will work towards improving educational outcomes for children and young people, with a focus on equity and excellence. Responsibilities include supporting inclusive practices, enhancing mental health, and building positive relationships within schools. Registration with the HCPC is required. This is a permanent 0.9 FTE position located in the city of Stirling.

Job description

Stirling Educational Psychology Service (EPS) seeks to appoint a motivated and dynamic individual to the post of Educational Psychologist within our team. You will be a highly skilled and values led professional who is passionate about psychology and improving outcomes for all children and young people through equity and excellence.

Stirling Educational Psychology Service offers induction, support and supervision for new members of staff. There is a strong focus on staff wellbeing and professional development.

All staff have opportunities to engage in and lead on development work as well as having their own allocation of educational establishments to link with.

The service is integral to the Children’s Service, providing valuable opportunities for all staff to use their psychological skills and knowledge in contributing to and leading on, local and national priorities with a range of partners and stakeholders.

Stirling Educational Psychology Service currently supports delivery of a number of key priorities from the Schools Learning and Education Plan in collaboration with others with a focus on evidence based practice. Some current priority areas include:

  • Supporting inclusive practice and environments
  • Promoting positive relationships
  • Supporting attendance and engagement in learning
  • Enhancing mental health and wellbeing

The Service is located in Stirling which is a beautiful city in Scotland’s central belt, with excellent commuter links.

Applications are invited from qualified Educational Psychologists and those who are in the process of completing their QEP. Registration with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) is required.

We are advertising a 0.9 FTE post to work as part of our welcoming team on a permanent basis.
