Help Children Thrive – One Consultation at a Time.We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Educational Psychologist to join a forward-thinking Local Authority in Merseyside. If you’re driven to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND, mental health, or emotional wellbeing needs, we want to hear from you.You’ll be part of a high-performing team using a consultation-led model that aligns with the SEND Code of Practice and the Assess, Plan, Do, Review framework. Working across schools, early years settings, and multi-agency partnerships, you’ll deliver both statutory and traded services, including high-quality assessments and interventions that lead to positive, sustainable outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Deliver high-impact assessments for children with a range of learning and social-emotional needs
- Contribute to statutory assessments, EHCPs, and Annual Reviews
- Lead Team Around the Child and Joint Problem-Solving meetings
- Collaborate with parents, carers, educators, and external agencies
- Drive systemic change by working at both individual and whole-school levels
- Provide consultation, training, and development sessions for schools and services
- Design and deliver evidence-based interventions
- Contribute to research and service development to enhance outcomes across the borough
Who We’re Looking For:- A qualified Educational Psychologist (Master’s or Doctorate level)
- Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Holds a BPS-recognised Psychology degree
- Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent assessment, consultation, and report-writing skills
- Collaborative, insightful, and committed to inclusive education
Desirable:- Further qualifications in areas related to EP practice (e.g. CBT, attachment, trauma-informed care)
- Experience with early years or post-16 settings
- Familiarity with traded service delivery models
