Ceredigion is a beautiful rural area with a dramatic coastline and lively communities. It is a county rich with history, culture and community. Ceredigion schools aim to provide the highest standards in education and excellent relationship exists between our schools and central services.

We are looking for an educational psychologist to join our happy and enthusiastic team which sits as part of the wider ALN, Inclusion and Wellbeing Service. The Educational Psychology Service is well respected within Schools Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking the full range of psychological services within the county to facilitate change, raise standards and ensure educational inclusion. We work closely with our schools and adopt a solution-focused approach in our consultations. We work in a preventative manner, with the freedom to use a range of psychological techniques to make a difference to the pupils.

We welcome applicants who are able to begin immediately and also from students who are currently in Year 2 / 3 of their doctoral studies.

To maintain ethical standards, it is essential for the candidate to be registered, and to maintain continued registration, with the HCPC.

Our Aberystwyth office, Canolfan Rheidol is an award winning building. The office, with its open plan design, provides an excellent space for collaborative working.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. We assess each applicant on a case‑by‑case basis, and take into account the nature and relevance of any convictions in relation to the responsibilities of the role. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
