Are you an experienced and dedicated Educational Psychologist looking for a new challenge? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Educational Psychologist to join our Education Services Service and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in our community.

Reporting to the Senior Educational Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality psychological services to schools and other educational settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and providing interventions to support the educational, emotional, and social development of children and young people.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and positive outcomes for learners.
  • Offering consultation and advice on a range of issues, such as behaviour management and special educational needs.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve educational provision.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualified and registered as an Educational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Extensive experience in delivering psychological services within an educational context.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to apply a range of psychological theories and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
