Interim Educational Psychologist

Job Ref: Gloucestershire 5263097

Pay Rate: £470.46 per day PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 12 months

An Educational Psychologist to provide expert psychological advice and support to address the Local Authority’s backlog. The role involves delivering high-quality psychological services to schools, settings, and families working face-to-face.

Under the supervision of the Principal and Senior Educational Psychologists, you will contribute to the provision of effective and supportive services, ensuring positive outcomes for children and families. All necessary IT equipment will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support schools in delivering the graduated approach for children and young adults (0-25) with Special Educational Needs through casework, training, and evidence-informed interventions.
  2. Provide support on cases of concern as outlined in the Code of Practice 2014.
  3. Conduct psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process.
  4. Lead on a specific area of interest within the service, contributing to collaborative working with other professionals and agencies.
  5. Participate in personal performance reviews, ongoing professional development, and contribute to the Service’s overall development.
Key Requirements:
  1. An Honours Degree in Psychology (or equivalent acceptable for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society), a recognised teaching qualification, at least two years qualified classroom teaching experience and a Masters qualification in Educational Psychology.
  2. HCPC Registered
  3. Knowledge of relevant legislation as it affects schools and early years’ settings in general and EP work in particular.
  4. Experience of working as an Educational Psychologist
  5. Recent experience of providing LA psychological advice
  6. Post qualification experience working within a statutory organisation.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Able to work on statutory timeframes.
