We are recruiting 1 qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our Richmond Mental Health Support Team.

About the role

The successful candidate will work within a service adopting a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. The role involves preventative work and providing low-intensity early interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression, or behavioural difficulties.

The post involves working with children, young people of all ages, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Interpreters will be utilized when necessary, and the candidate should be committed to equal opportunities. The team offers clinical supervision, peer support, line management, and CPD opportunities.

About you

We seek candidates with the following qualities:

  • Completion of the HEE-commissioned 1-year ‘Education Mental Health Practitioner’ or Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) course
  • Experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties, including anxiety and mood disorders
  • Experience delivering therapeutic interventions like guided self-help and time-limited therapy
  • Familiarity with assessment tools and frameworks to evaluate progress and outcomes
  • Ability to conduct mental health assessments and provide 1:1 therapeutic interventions
  • Experience conducting group parenting programmes
  • Ability to work within educational settings to promote mental health awareness among staff
  • Skill in assessing and managing risk appropriately
  • Good IT skills, including database or spreadsheet use
