ABOUT THE SERVICE

As our motto is “To Motivate, To Stimulate, To Challenge”, we are looking for a highly experienced Educational Leader to support the execution of high-quality curriculum decision making within our BRAND NEW Guildford location, which opened early 2025.

Kinda-Mindi, Guildford is a 106-place service with an underground car park, 6 indoor environments, large staff and programming rooms, and multiple outdoor areas. Parking is available on-site and we are also close to bus lines for those who require public transport.

ABOUT THE ROLE

If you have proven experience successfully leading and mentoring a team of educators in all areas of the curriculum, this is the position for you!

As Educational Leader, you will have a significant theoretical and practical knowledge of child development and the Early Years Learning Framework. You will be responsible for supporting all educators to contribute to the service curriculum, ensuring each child is represented within it. You will be involved in developing and evaluating individual support plans as a passion for equity and a commitment to advocating for each child’s rights is essential.

This role is a mixture of working on the floor in a multi-age capacity, along with significant non-contact time. This ensures that you have the opportunity to work alongside all educators, participate in reflective discussions and have a strong understanding of the needs of the children within each environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of individual room play-based programs as per the services curriculum planning policy.
  • Ensuring the health and safety needs of all children are supported.
  • Inspire and encourage environments which fosters curiosity and encourages exploration and engagement.
  • Demonstrate and promote professional standards at all times, ensuring positive and respectful relationships with children, families, fellow team members and the wider community.
  • Provide support and mentorship to individual team members.
  • Lead reflective practice and curriculum considerations relating to inclusion and equity within your room and the service as a whole.
  • Advocate for the rights of children and their families.
  • Abide by all service policies and procedures, ensuring high quality practices are implemented at all times.

Candidates need to be dedicated, reliable and committed to working within our team. We are open to this role being part time, with a Leader who can commit to at least 25-30 hours per week. There is flexibility in working hours between 7.00am and 6.00pm.

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • ACECQA approved university degree in Education/Teaching/Early Childhood Education. Completion within the next 6 months may be accepted with substantial experience.
  • Current NESA Teacher Accreditation.
  • 3+ years in a similar leadership position.
  • Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificate/s (E.g. 004 or 012).

Other Essential Criteria

You will also have:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including National Law & Regulations, National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • A passion for developing, planning and implementing an innovative educational program with a commitment to inclusive early childhood practice and social justice.
  • A deep understanding of child safety and the National Child Safe Principles.
  • A commitment to empowering, respecting and protecting children and young people through the provision of child safe environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy - experience using web-based documentation systems preferred.
  • Current approved Working with Children Check clearance number.

You will be required to provide at least 2 recent professional references within the last 5 years. This is non-negotiable and is imperative in our commitment to providing a child safe environment.

The referees provided must also be able to provide feedback on your performance in an Educational Leadership role, including the essential criteria stated above.
