Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a Tower Hamlets-based secondary school in recruiting a School HR Officer to join their operations team. The role focuses on staff wellbeing, recruitment, and personnel management, working with senior leaders to promote best practices and an inclusive workplace.

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end recruitment, ensure DBS/SCR compliance, provide HR guidance, maintain confidential records, and help implement efficient HR systems to support staff

Qualifications

• Proven HR experience, ideally in education or public sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and Safer recruitment.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Outstanding communication and mediation abilities.
• Proactive with a drive to progress in educational HR.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, interviews, and onboarding.
• Ensure DBS checks and SCR compliance and record-keeping.
• Provide day-to-day HR advice on absence, contracts, and policies.
• Maintain confidential personnel records and HR databases.
• Develop efficient administrative systems to support staff wellbeing and retention.
