Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is recruiting for an Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS) Worker in Crewe, Cheshire. The role is hybrid/office-based, full-time, and focuses on supporting children educated outside traditional schools.

You will work with children, families and partner agencies to ensure appropriate education and safeguarding. The ideal candidate has experience with children and families, strong safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to travel across the borough when required.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working directly with children, young people and families.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and an understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Experience of working with schools and/or other partner agencies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to travel across the borough when required.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with children, young people and their families to understand their circumstances and educational arrangements.
  • Monitor the education and wellbeing of Electively Home Educated children.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to parents, schools and partner agencies.
  • Work with schools around referrals and responsibilities relating to Elective Home Education.
  • Identify and track children who may be receiving education outside of a traditional school setting.
  • Support Romany Gypsy and Traveller families to access suitable education and positive outcomes.
  • Use data and tracking systems to monitor cases and measure intervention impact.
  • Collaborate with a range of agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
  • Utilise appropriate legal procedures (e.g., School Attendance Orders) where concerns exist.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and case information.
  • Confidently challenge schools, parents and professionals when appropriate.
  • Willingness to travel across the borough when required.

Are you passionate about ensuring that every child has access to a suitable education? Do you have experience working with children, young people and families, alongside schools and other professionals?

We are currently looking for a committed and confident Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS) Worker to play a vital role in supporting children and young people who are being educated outside of a traditional school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in education, family support, children's services, attendance, safeguarding or multi-agency working who wants to make a genuine difference.

The Role
  • Working closely with children, young people and their families to understand their circumstances and educational arrangements.

  • The confidence to challenge appropriately and manage difficult conversations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • A willingness and ability to travel across the borough when required.
  • Experience of Elective Home Education and/or supporting Romany Gypsy and Traveller communities would be highly beneficial.
