Being an Explorers Volunteer is a rewarding experience. The role is full of variety, flexibility, and fun!
From bug hunts and pond dipping to discovering how a river works and why we have canals, we inspire children and young people about our waterways. With its rich biodiversity, heritage, and recreational potential, we use the waterways to build life skills, develop well-being, and connect children with nature and the great outdoors.
We provide you with full training, support, and resources for leading groups of children, as well as training days and monthly cake and coffee meetings.
You will have the support of a Learning & Skills Coordinator and the other volunteers on your team. We will reimburse you for all travel costs, supply you with a uniform, and conduct a full DBS check.
