Job summary

Education First is seeking an experienced Education Team Manager to lead the Families First Programme in Nottingham. You will coordinate education-related activity, build partnerships with schools and partner agencies, and drive improved outcomes for children and families.

This interim role requires a strong education background with Virtual School experience and proven leadership to manage a team, monitor performance, and deliver effective services.

Qualifications

• Previous Virtual School experience is essential.
• Proven experience managing an education team, service or complex programme.
• Strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and families.
• Experience of multi-agency working across education and children's services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, service delivery and performance monitoring.
• Excellent leadership, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate education-related activity within the Families First Programme.
• Support staff performance, workload management and service delivery.
• Build effective working relationships with schools, Virtual School colleagues and partner agencies.
• Coordinate multi-agency responses to meet the needs of children and families.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and support timely interventions.
• Contribute to service planning, performance reporting and continuous improvement.
• Ensure practice is child-centred and aligned with safeguarding responsibilities.
• Support effective communication between professionals and families.
