Job summary

Sense College in Rothwell is seeking an Education Support Worker on a 1-year fixed-term contract, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:15am–4:15pm for 39 weeks per year. You will help learners make successful transitions to adulthood, supporting EHCP outcomes and promoting a high‑quality education experience.

Experience with sensory impairment, autism or learning disability is advantageous; training for communication methods such as BSL or Makaton will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people who have sensory impairment, autism or learning disability is advantageous.
• Training will be provided for communication methods such as BSL or Makaton.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare learners for transitions into adulthood under EHCP outcomes.
• Work closely with learners to achieve education and health care plan goals.
• Support personal care as required and promote health and wellbeing.
• Maintain records and contribute to person-centred planning and service quality.
