Job description

SEN Education Support Worker

Location: Silverstone

Salary: £24,420 - £25,410 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Term time only)

Are you experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are working with an independent special school, catering for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide 1:1 support and supervision for pupils aged 11–18
  • Support pupils in improving emotional wellbeing and achieving their potential
  • Plan, deliver, and evidence individual learning programmes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Prioritise safeguarding and report concerns appropriately
  • Contribute to documentation such as observations, risk assessments, and support plans
  • Promote pupils’ self-esteem and independence
  • Undertake training as agreed with your Line Manager
  • Transport pupils in your own vehicle (must be insured for business use), following school policies on lone working and transport
  • Attend or produce reports for multi-agency meetings when required

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (can be arranged via Teaching Personnel)
  • Two most recent professional references (covering the past 24 months)
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable — for those who’ve lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the last 5 years)
