Job summary

Isle of Man Government is seeking an Education Support Officer for Bunscoill Rhumsaa in Ramsey. You will support pupils with additional needs, help them take part in activities and work with teachers to deliver education and behaviour plans. You will also monitor progress and communicate with parents and carers regularly.

This term-time role covers 38 weeks per year with a 37-hour week. The salary rises yearly to a maximum; pension options and development opportunities are provided, plus staff

Job description

This role is term time, which means that the gross annual salary advertised will be reduced proportionately based on the number of weeks worked during the academic year. Term time employees are contracted to work 38 weeks per year.

Please note that the full time equivalent for this position is 37 hours, so roles advertised with contracted hours less than 37 will be classed as part time. The gross annual salary advertised will be reduced based on the part-time hours.

As an Education Support Officer at Bunscoill Rhumsaa, you will provide tailored support to pupils with additional and complex needs, helping them take part in classroom activities and develop their learning, confidence and independence. You will work closely with teachers to deliver learning programmes, support individual education and behaviour plans and provide regular feedback on pupils’ progress.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will form constructive relationships with pupils, support positive behaviour and help create an environment where every child has equal access to opportunities. We are looking for someone who is creative, outgoing and able to engage and relate to both infant and junior aged children, whilst communicating well with colleagues, parents or carers.
