Education Solicitor – Join a Top-Tier Practice
Are you an experienced education lawyer looking for your next challenge?
We are working with a highly ranked, Legal 500-recognised firm with a Tier 1 education practice, looking to expand their regulatory compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of a thriving and dynamic area of law, working with some of the country’s leading education providers.
The firm is a full-service UK law firm with a reputation for excellence in the education sector. Despite their size, they maintain a close-knit and supportive culture where collaboration, authenticity, and integrity are core values. They value proactive, passionate professionals who bring expertise, energy, and a good sense of humour.
The specialist regulatory compliance team advises education providers on navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks. The work is varied, fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating, with legal and political developments constantly shaping the sector. Clients rely on their deep sector knowledge, practical approach, and high service standards.
As part of this Tier 1-ranked team, you’ll work on high-profile matters that make a difference. From advising on regulatory compliance to managing legal challenges, you’ll be part of a respected and growing practice that contributes significantly to the firm’s success.
They are seeking an education lawyer with strong experience advising independent schools on student, parent, and regulatory matters. Ideally, you’ll have expertise in both contentious and non-contentious work, with a solid understanding of the challenges faced by independent schools, school groups, and governing bodies.
Your responsibilities will include working closely with practice leads, supervising team members, and contributing to strategic planning. You’ll advise on issues such as admissions, exclusions (including appeals), student behaviour, disciplinary matters, safeguarding, SEN and equality law, complaints, tribunal work, and school inspections.
You’ll play a key role in incident management and reputation protection, which are increasingly important for independent schools. Experience handling fee disputes, parental complaints, and safeguarding concerns would be advantageous. The ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and efficiency is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to guide schools through regulatory changes and make a meaningful impact in the education sector.
The firm offers a hybrid working model, balancing flexibility with in-person collaboration. Remote work is possible, but in-office presence is encouraged to foster a friendly and engaging culture. (Flexible arrangements can be discussed.)
