Job summary

Cy Resourcing is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large and complex £60m Multi-Academy Trust on an initial three-month fixed-term contract. The role will own year-end and statutory accounts and support the wider finance function during a busy period.

The ideal candidate is fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with education sector experience, ready to deliver commercially and autonomously. Salary £45,000 FTE pro rata, with potential longer-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in education sector financial accounting.
• Experience with year-end and statutory accounts.

Responsibilities

• Leading the preparation of year-end and statutory accounts.
• Supporting the external audit process.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with academy and education sector reporting requirements.
• Reviewing financial controls and identifying areas for improvement.
• Providing financial insight to senior stakeholders.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
