Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the LADO Service, focusing on children’s protection from harm in education. The Education LADO advises schools and education professionals from Early Years through to 18 on child protection and safety in education settings. The LADO role is a statutory position that manages allegations of harm against education professionals. It is a busy, challenging, and rewarding role that utilizes the skills, confidence, and knowledge of experienced child protection practitioners. Responsibilities include managing allegations, chairing meetings, producing reports, and visiting schools and settings.

The LADO service team consists of 3 members. You will receive regular supervision from the experienced LADO Service Manager and Senior Business Support Officer. There are also team and service meetings with colleagues from the Engagement, Safeguarding, and Quality Assurance Service. This role offers opportunities for professional development within a small, evolving team.

The ideal candidate must be a qualified and registered Social Worker with management experience in safeguarding children. Knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and Keeping Children Safe in Education is essential. Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with professionals at all levels are required.
