Job description

Are you someone who thrives on building strong relationships and is looking for a role where you can make a tangible difference? Would you thrive in a role where you make things work better: coordinating information, improving systems, supporting partners and applying your creativity to solve challenges?

Newbattle Abbey College is seeking an Education Projects Officer to help grow and strengthen the reach of two nationally recognised qualifications: our Adult Achievement Awards (AAA) and Forest and Outdoor Learning Awards (FOLA). These programmes transform lives – building confidence, skills, and new opportunities for learners across Scotland and beyond.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll work closely with existing Approved Centres, freelance trainers, and new partner organisations to grow delivery of the Awards. You’ll also support the coordination of grant-funded projects, maintain quality assurance processes, and contribute to the wider goals of the College’s mission to widen access to education.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Builds relationships with empathy and professionalism

• Takes initiative and enjoys solving problems

• Thrives in a small team environment where flexibility is key

• Has excellent communication, coordination and organisational skills

• Wants to make a meaningful contribution to adult and community learning

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, values-led college with a national impact. As a close-knit team, we all play a part in keeping the College operational, so this is an on-campus role with flexibility over how hours are worked across the week.
