Job summary

National Learning Group is seeking an enthusiastic Education & Curriculum Lead for its NLG Pathways service, overseeing learning provision for 11–16 students in an Alternative Provision setting. You will design engaging, flexible pathways to support academic progress, boost engagement and re-integrate learners into mainstream education.

Based in the Pathways site, you will deliver English and Maths tuition, lead and support staff, and work closely with families and external agencies to secure

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) required.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment and teaching.
• Ability to inspire and support students with barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

About the Role

NLG Pathways is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Education & Curriculum Lead to lead the academic provision for young people aged 11 to 16 within our Alternative Provision service.

This is a key leadership role responsible for creating engaging and flexible learning pathways that support academic progress, boost engagement, and help students successfully reintegrate into mainstream education.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing innovative and inclusive learning pathways
• Delivering teaching, tuition and targeted interventions in English and Maths
• Leading and supporting staff
• Developing strong literacy and numeracy provision
• Monitoring outcomes and quality assurance processes
• Working closely with families, schools and external agencies to support reintegration

About You

We're looking for a passionate individual looking to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Essential Requirements:

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
• Curriculum, assessment and teaching knowledge
• Ability to inspire, engage and support students with additional barriers to learning

Desirable:

• Experience within Alternative Provision or specialist settings
• Experience supporting students with SEMH, EBSA or attendance challenges
• Curriculum leadership or quality assurance experience
• Experience managing or coaching staff
• Experience teaching students aged 11 to 16
