Shropshire Council’s legal team seeks a lawyer to manage a varied education law caseload, delivering clear, practical advice on SEND, school admissions, exclusions, complaints, equality duties, tribunal proceedings and judicial review. The role supports Children’s Services and maintained schools within the Council’s ethos.

You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with litigation and advocacy rights, bringing sound professional judgement and the confidence to own

Formación

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with litigation and advocacy rights.
• At least two years' post-qualification experience in education law, SEND law or general litigation.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a varied education law caseload and provide clear, practical advice across SEND, school admissions, exclusions, complaints, equality duties, tribunal proceedings and judicial review.
• Support the Council's maintained schools and deliver high-quality legal services to Children’s Services.
• Potentially cover for colleagues and undertake work/training relevant to Legal and Democratic Services activities.
