Job summary

SBS Finance Services is seeking a Finance Consultant to join our education-focused consultancy team. This remote role supports a diverse range of maintained schools and academies, delivering budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end activities with practical financial guidance.

You will work across Service Desk and Processing Service activities, ensuring high-quality service and strong financial controls, with occasional in-person collaboration at our London head office.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance within schools, academies, or multi-academy trusts.
• Understanding of education finance, budgeting, reporting and controls.
• Experience with month-end and year-end processes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of maintained schools and academies.
• Provide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning support.
• Deliver month-end, year-end processes and financial reporting.
• Produce management reports and financial analysis.
• Offer practical finance guidance to customers.
• Collaborate with Service Desk and Processing Service teams.
• Respond to customer queries and improve service delivery.
