About the role:

Are you passionate about education evaluation and delivering outstanding service? Do you excel at data analysis and creating insightful reports and dashboards? Do you enjoy finding and communicating meaningful insights to others? If so, we want to hear from you.

The Education Evaluation Manager is responsible for leading the development of the education evaluation service, with a team of three Senior Planning and Insight Analysts within the Planning and Insight Division. Evaluation of our educational provision and our students’ experiences is central to Imperial’s success. This role will lead the ongoing development of the evaluation capability that supports the Learning and Teaching Strategy, the Imperial Class of 2030, the Access and Participation Plan (APP), and Imperial’s future TEF submissions. This will support Imperial in improving access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds.

What you would be doing:
  • Develop a strategy for education evaluation working with colleagues from across Imperial and advising on good evaluation practice
  • Lead robust analysis, interpretation and modelling of education and student data
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to inform Imperial’s decision-making with relevant insights
  • Ensure Imperial fulfils its Access and Participation Plan (APP) evaluation commitments, supporting teams with development of their evaluation frameworks for interventions
  • Manage the education evaluation data service, including updates to a set of PowerBI dashboards on educational student experience and student outcomes data
  • Prepare papers and reports, attending Imperial committee meetings to explain and interpret the data
  • Internal and external representative of education evaluation at Imperial
What we are looking for:
  • Honours degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of education evaluation and use/interpretation of education related data
  • Experience of managing complex and dynamic workload
  • High level of people and analytical skills
  • Experience of working with PowerBI
  • Experience analysing complex datasets and summarising emerging themes succinctly; ability to explain complicated information and data
  • Knowledge of principal data sources used in HE, particularly those relating to the student lifecycle
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent and clear written and oral communication skills

Further information

This role is for a fixed-term contract for 12 months, as maternity leave cover.

This position could be an opportunity for an internal secondment, with approval from your current line manager.

The post is hybrid, when on campus based primarily at White City with time also at South Kensington campus.
