Greenwood Academies Trust is seeking an Education Director (Primary) to drive academy improvement and strategic system leadership across our primary provision. You will work with a portfolio of academy principals and leaders to evaluate and raise education standards within a strong governance framework.

The role involves Trust-wide leadership on a common improvement priority and a commitment to professional development that underpins our Primary Framework and improvement strategies.

Job description

We are looking for an Education Director (Primary) to join our team here at Greenwood Academies Trust!

About the role:

We are excited to be looking for an exceptional professional to join our Primary Education Team. Our 26 primary academies are ‘good’, mostly located in clusters on the East Coast, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicester City.

The role is a combination of academy improvement, executive governance and strategic system leadership. It will involve working with a portfolio of academy principals, leaders and other practitioners to effectively self‑evaluate and deliver high quality education provision, through robust and ambitious improvement work. It will also include a Trust‑wide strategic leadership responsibility where you will get the opportunity to develop and lead work on a common improvement priority, aligned to the successful candidate’s interests, skills and experience; examples could include a focus on disadvantaged pupils, curriculum development, subject specific improvements or improving the quality of teaching. You will also be contributing to our significant professional development offer for colleagues that underpins our Primary Framework and improvement strategies.

The role would suit individuals with detailed and up-to‑date knowledge of primary education and school/academy improvement through successful leadership experience as a Principal/Headteacher or comparable adviser/improvement partner (e.g. HMI, Local Authority adviser, Systems Leader). Ideally, you will have experience across a range of school/academy contexts, including those serving the most disadvantaged communities.
