Directorate Overview

Work for an organisation steeped in history with a front row seat for the digitalisation of the financial sector, and the rise of Fintech and Regtech. A core organisational strength, with our people at our centre, Technology enables the Bank of England to deliver its mission by providing a hugely diverse set of technical solutions and platforms. From supporting critical systems which underpin the UK economy, to evolving data analytics, reinventing our online presence, and introducing a fully digital workplace. Be part of a team that’s constantly evolving, just like our industry.

We take pride in our people, with backgrounds and experiences as diverse as the solutions they provide. You’ll enjoy flexible working opportunities, a strong sense of community and well-being, and a collective mission to promote the good of the people of the UK. All of which add up to make the Bank a hugely rewarding place to work.

The Digital Workplace domain is responsible for selecting, delivering and continuously improving a portfolio of digital services that help colleagues across Bank to collaborate, communicate and be productive irrespective of role, device or location.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, keen to expand their knowledge about technology and is able to speak and build relationships with others. As our use of M365 technologies expands we're looking to get someone on board who can help us to help the Bank be more productive and feel confident using the tools we make available.

SA&O Have Two Core Responsibilities

  • To provide excellent service supporting the services that are owned by Digital Workplace. These include our M365 apps such as Microsoft Exchange, Office, SharePoint, MS Teams, our End User Computing tools such as Apps, Window OS, Mobile, Citrix, SCCM, Security Clients, and our Document Management and telephony solutions. You will be the first contact as calls come into Digital Workplace, as a 3rd line technician.
  • To champion the use and adoption of our technologies and offer advice and guidance to empower colleagues across the Bank to communicate and collaborate more effectively. You will be a champion for our technologies, and will have plenty of opportunities to present, articulate our services and persuade others to embrace them. This responsibility is growing as the use of Productivity Hub increases and we move into a world of tech modernisation, where there is an expectation to help support colleagues by training, and taking part in campaigns run by our network of Bank-wide Technology champions (‘Digital Ninjas’).

We are a close-knit, friendly and flexible team, with proven experience of bringing new members on board and providing a solid grounding of technical skills so you will feel supported throughout. We also have a great track record of developing our team so they can progress in to the more technical teams within the Domain, or other areas within Technology.

If you are ready to throw yourself into learning something new, want to build on your training and presentation skills, raise your profile and experience life in Technology then we want to hear from you!
