Job description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education and Training Manager to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing and delivering high-quality training programs that drive learning and development across the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Education and Training Committee to deliver the education and training strategy.
  • Organise and oversee a calendar of national events, including an annual exhibition with circa 100 exhibitors and visited by around 1,000 members of industry.
  • Manage the administration, entry process and judging of a series of annual awards.
  • In partnership with the communications team, create emotive and inspiring materials conveying our story to all sectors within the industry and their respective audiences.
  • Manage the administration of the My Furniture Career website, ensuring companies in the industry are using it effectively.
  • Manage income and expenditure budgets for education.
  • To nurture and cultivate partners (schools, colleges, universities and employers) in order to secure their long term contribution to their educational initiatives.
  • To work with regional committees to support the delivery of several annual regional events.
  • Utilise the existing database to hold all data in a format that can produce all necessary reports and track stakeholders, partners, student contacts and relationships.
  • Ensure that the Communications Plan and programme supports the Education and Training need.

Personal Attributes and Skills

  • Excellent administrative track record, with particular experience with an educational and/or charitable organisation.
  • Success in delivering projects and events against targets and deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, self-starter able to work largely on own initiative.
  • Ability to plan ahead, manage own time, work to deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communications, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • The ability to deal with people and challenges at a high level.
  • IT literate and financially literate.
