We are seeking a committed and proactive individual to support the English, maths and ESOL departments through a dual-focused role that combines student engagement with lesson delivery.

As part of this key support function, you will monitor and track student attendance, liaise with families, and take appropriate action to promote consistent attendance and progress. In addition, you will step in to facilitate pre-planned lessons during periods of staff absence, helping to maintain high-quality delivery across GCSE and Functional Skills for both post-16 and adult learners.

If you’re passionate about education, highly organized, and confident in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you.

About The Role:

The Education and Engagement Facilitator will be responsible for the timely monitoring and tracking of student attendance across the English, maths and ESOL departments. You will take appropriate action relating to student attendance, which will involve liaising with students’ families in relation to their attendance and progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant Teaching and Learning Manager.

You will be required to facilitate lessons in the event of staff sickness or absence throughout the year, as requested by the Teaching and Learning Manager or Head of Learning. This will involve delivering pre-planned lessons to cover GCSE and Functional Skills for post-16 students and adults.

Key Responsibilities:

· Monitor and track learner attendance on a daily and weekly basis across English, maths and ESOL, using college systems such as dashboards

· Liaise with cross-college curriculum teams and the Head of Learning for English, Maths and ESOL to support strategies for improving attendance and learner engagement

· Facilitate lessons as cover in the event of staff sickness or absence throughout the year

· Provide support to learners to support questions, offering clarification and encouragement to promote independent learning

· Recognise and respond to diverse needs of learners, including those with additional learning support requirements

· Support lecturers and managers to monitor learners’ attendance and produce relevant reports as required

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

· Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths

· An Award in Education and Training qualification, or be willing to work towards within 12 months of starting employment

· Hold a Level 3 qualification in English or Maths, or be willing to work towards within 2 years of starting employment
