Job description

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an EDU/SSD Technician.

The role involves undertaking decontamination science duties, providing a specialized decontamination of medical devices service, and contributing to the clinical care of patients. This includes receiving, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, packing, and sterilizing reusable medical devices, and recording all tasks in the tracking and tracing database.

Main Duties
  • Reprocess reusable medical devices, including disassembling, cleaning, disinfecting, checking, assembling, sterilizing, dispatching, and tracking in a controlled environment.
  • Work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Management System.
  • Provide a collection and delivery service to the Decontamination Departments' customers, meeting the demands of the Department's workload while consistently achieving high-quality standards.
