Overview

Job title: EDU Geometric Integration Lead Engineer

Location: Warwickshire

We are looking for an experienced EDU Geometric Integration Lead Engineer to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in the development of Electric Drive Units (EDUs), a core component in our client’s electrification strategy.

The successful candidate will lead the EDU Geometric Integration team, ensuring the EDU is compatible with system-level requirements. You will manage a multidisciplinary team within an Agile framework, delivering geometric compatibility, entitlement to meet system performance requirements, and demonstrating quality through evidence-based engineering reviews. This is an exciting opportunity to work on electrified driveline systems and help shape the future of electrification in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities
  • EDU Geometric Compatibility
  • Create and publish skeleton models to define EDU component architecture.
  • Regularly publish full assembly models in line with sprint cadence.
  • Manage EDU assembly design freeze in line with programme gateways.
  • Support vehicle package reviews and virtual build events.
  • Support virtual builds for rig setups.
  • Resolve Incompatibilities
  • Lead resolution of issues that span multiple component groups through integration design reviews.
  • Provide support for vehicle build issues.
  • EDU System Validation
  • Create test requests as defined by the DFMEA.
  • Compile and upload evidence and test reports to corporate repositories.
  • Complete evidence-based engineering reviews for EDU assemblies.
  • Labels Release
  • Design and release responsibility for EDU labels.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential
  • Strong experience with 3D modelling tools and techniques, ideally CATIA V6.
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proven knowledge and application of Agile product delivery methodology.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering innovative design solutions.
  • Experience in project management and issue resolution.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
  • Prior experience in a Product Owner role.
  • Experience managing projects and backlogs using Confluence and JIRA.
  • Previous experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of EDU design
