Position: EDU Consultant Psychiatrist

Location: Priory Hospital Hayes Grove, Kent, Prestons Road, Hayes, Bromley, BR2 7AS

Division: Healthcare

Salary: £170,000 to £176,000 pro rata depending on experience

Hours: 30 hours per week

Vacancy Type: Permanent - Part Time

Role Description: We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for our Eating Disorder service. The role involves providing high-quality clinical care for patients in our 20-bed eating disorder unit, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, person-centered care based on the recovery model.

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including ward rounds, risk reviews, and developing a therapeutic environment.
  • Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act (1983, as amended 2007).
  • Managing complex eating disorder cases, including capacity and legal considerations.
  • Leading the multidisciplinary team in assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
  • Participating in management and clinical governance meetings.
  • Contributing to training and supervision of junior staff.
  • Maintaining CPD and revalidation requirements.
  • Collaborating on service development with senior management.
  • Participating in on-call duties and covering satellite sites as needed.

Requirements: Must hold GMC registration, approved postgraduate degree (MRCPsych or equivalent), and have experience in eating disorder services. Enhanced DBS check required.
