A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations, as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.
AIS is seeking an eDNA Support Biologist to conduct experiments on the shedding and degradation rates of eDNA from species such as silver hake, black seabass, shad, river herring, and other finfish. This data will help evaluate the utility of eDNA in quantitative survey assessments for fisheries and protected species. This position is part of a contract opportunity currently under bidding.
Primary Function:
The Ecosystems and Aquaculture Division (EAD) supports research on the links between climate patterns and species/habitat responses. The role involves determining the utility of eDNA in assessments and potentially integrating this data into models with collaborators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compensation: Hourly rate to be negotiated, with total compensation based on experience. This is a full-time position. AIS offers health and dental insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
